Pope Leo XIV appeared at the window of the Apostolic Palace on Sunday to lead the Angelus for the first time since leaving hospital after surgery for lung cancer, LBCI and the Associated Press reported. Thousands of people in St Peter's Square greeted him.
Doctors removed the lower lobe of his right lung on 13 October. The Vatican says tests show continued improvement, and preparations continue for his planned November trip to Uruguay, Argentina and Peru.
Lebanese parishes continue to pray for his full recovery.
