A memorial Mass was held in Aishiyeh, a Christian village in south Lebanon, for the victims of the massacre committed there in October 1976 during the civil war, Elnashra reported. Charbel Massaad attended on behalf of the President of the Republic and spoke of loyalty to the martyrs and attachment to the unity of Lebanon.

Remembering Aishiyeh and the villages of the south is part of keeping Christian presence alive on the border, where many families have again been displaced by war.
