Lebanese and Israeli military delegations meet in Tampa this week
US-hosted technical talks at CENTCOM will test the pilot zones and the army's deployment.
Military delegations from Lebanon and Israel are due to meet on Tuesday and Wednesday at US Central Command headquarters in Tampa, Florida, according to Naharnet and LBCI. A US Marine Corps general is expected to lead the American side.
The Lebanese presidency said Beirut's delegation will discuss the conditions for the Army's redeployment in the south and the path to the state's exclusive control of weapons. The agenda also covers the pilot zones and the withdrawal of Israeli troops.
Lebanon plans to raise Israeli violations in the pilot zones, including incursions and the killing of a civilian, reported Middle East Eye and NewsCord. An Israeli security official quoted by i24NEWS said there is little progress on the ground.
Lebanese Lobby backs a negotiated path led by the state and its Army, with the United States as sponsor, to end the occupation and restore sovereignty over every inch of Lebanese soil.
