El presidente Joseph Aoun pidió, tras presidir una reunión de seguridad, aplicar con más rigor las medidas de seguridad y confiscar armas y municiones, según LBCI.

Instó a impedir las exhibiciones armadas, acelerar las investigaciones y remitir a los infractores a la justicia: «No se debe tolerar ningún intento de socavar la seguridad o la estabilidad», dijo, y advirtió contra la explotación de los reclamos económicos.

Pidió también reforzar las Fuerzas de Seguridad Interna, la Seguridad General y la Seguridad del Estado en las localidades del sur no ocupadas, y elogió al Ejército y a los servicios.
