Israeli strikes and shelling hit south Lebanon villages despite framework deal
Warplanes, drones and artillery targeted towns in four districts on Monday; no casualties were immediately reported.
Israeli warplanes, drones and artillery struck several villages in south Lebanon on Monday, according to Lebanon's National News Agency as reported by Anadolu Agency and Ici Beyrouth.
Two waves of airstrikes hit the area around Tallouseh in the Marjayoun district, and Israeli troops carried out two powerful detonations in nearby Qantara. Artillery shelled Mansouri in the Tyre district and Haddatha in the Bint Jbeil district, while a drone dropped a projectile on a previously targeted building in Mayfadoun. Ici Beyrouth also reported an Israeli incursion into the outskirts of Kfarchouba, where houses were searched.
No casualties were immediately reported. The strikes came on the eve of the Lebanese and Israeli military talks in Tampa, where Lebanon intends to raise such violations of the US-brokered framework agreement signed in June.
Lebanese Lobby supports the deployment of the Lebanese Army as the only force in the south, and an end to attacks that keep families from returning to their homes and land.
